Dorking Judo Club held another succesful End of Terms Games Evening with lots of members turning up to play many games including old favourites such as "Cat & Mouse, and "Sumo Wrestling". The evening also saw the San-Ka-Sho (participation) Trophy being awarded to joint winners Carl Pinion and Daniel Brett. The trophy is won by the DJC memmber who over the year has participated in the most events for the club. These events include competitions, gradings, working as a table official or referee, helping the club at fetes, turning up for all their practice sessions in a term, going to Surrey/Southern Area or National training session, and lots more. The trophy was donated to the club by the Elias family as a thank-you, after their childeren Sam and Amy had spent many years as members of the club. This year it was presented to the boys by Vanessa from the Brigitte Trust. She was also here to collect a 'big' cheque from our club on behalf of the Trust. This year DJC members managed to raise £208.50 from raffles, tombolas and charity tins at the fetes and fairs that the club took part in over the summer. The club also raised approximately £102 for the Rainbow Trust from the printer ink (17) and toner cartridges (17) that members have brought in over this year. Local Leatherhead firm Technology Resources recycle the ink jet and laser printer cartridges, and for every empty cartridge handed in, between £0-2 (ink jet) and £3-7 (laser) is given to the Rainbow Trust.
