Over 25 DJC members turned up for the Judo Display at Eastwick Junior School in Bookham. Junior and senior members demonstrated all aspects of Judo, from warm ups and breakfalls, through to randori and Kata. We even finished the session with a game of Bull Dog. After the demonstration members of the public were invited to 'have a go' at judo with a practice session run by Jill and Richard. Several youngster took up the offer and were shown how to breakfall, hold down an opponent with kesa-gatame, and throw using tai-otoshi. Peter Leach and his brother, brought Aggrobot II to the fete and gave everyone the chance to see the robot in close up. They spent the day showing eager adults (and children!) how the robot worked, and demonstrating some of its weapons, including the cutting tool at the back. At the end of the afternoon they put Aggrobot on a hard surface and showed how quickly it could manouver.
